Regular chiropractic care is an integral part of the prenatal and postpartum healthcare plan. It helps to keep mom's body feeling AND functioning at its best and assists her in coping with the physical stresses of an ever changing body.

Dr. Lori specializes in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic to help keep your family healthy. She will work with you on your family's nutrition, supplementation, physical health, and removal of misalignments in the spine. All of this can make your pregnancy more enjoyable by decreasing pain and/or discomfort and help maintain a stress free environment for you and your baby. Dr. Lori and her staff can alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms arising from the muscular, ligamentum, and biomechanical stresses encountered during pregnancy. We accomplish this through the use of a number of highly specialized safe and drug-free procedures and techniques, which include very gentle spinal adjusting techniques specifically designed for use in the pregnant female.

Dr. Lori has two children of her own whom she has adjusted since birth. She uses very gentle pressure to help glide your child's spine back into alignment. She also spends time releasing the restrictions in the soft tissues, or fascia. When restricted areas are found, Dr. Lori gently stretches the tissues along the direction of the muscle fibers. This stretch is held for a couple of minutes until a softening or release is felt. These stretches are repeated until the tension is felt no more. This technique helps the body heal from any birth trauma that may have occurred.

There are signs which parents may look for hat can be an indicator of a child with a spinal problem. Common indicators of spinal problems may include the child's head consistently being tilted to one side; restricted head or neck motion to one side; disturbed sleeping patterns where the child sleeps for only an hour or two at a time; feeding difficulties in the very young infant; the infant may have difficulty nursing at the breast on one particular side.

Common childhood disorders can also sometimes indicate a spinal problem. Persistent earaches, sore throats, colic, headaches, bed-wetting, and growing pains are but some of the more common problems for which parents bring their children to the chiropractor.
